In this section of the WPS web page, we are going to include a few pieces that offer reflections on what we learned about aspects of women and culture during recent travels. These are not meant to be academic, but are really an opportunity for those of us who have had the opportunity to travel to reflect on that travel and what we learned. They are meant to put a “human face” on often distant and foreign lands, and to counter stereotypes and perceptions based on “real world” experiences. We are starting with two, one piece on Kurdistan and the other on women in the Persian Gulf, but plan to add to it as we can.
