Research Associate

Jaclyn Messemer received her MA in International Development from American University’s School of International Service (SIS), where she was a DACOR Bacon House Fellow for the Advanced Study of Foreign Affairs, 2024 – 2025. This highly competitive fellowship is awarded annually to one SIS graduate student who demonstrates exceptional potential to contribute to the field of international affairs.

Jackie’s research interests focus on conflict-sensitive development programming and peacebuilding. She has previously worked as an international arbitration paralegal manager, supporting respondent state counsels throughout multiple investor-state treaty disputes. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Colgate University, with a thematic concentration in Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies.
