Kelcey Negus is an Associate supporting IWA’s programmatic work, operations, and development efforts.
Kelcey received her M.A. in International Peace and Conflict Resolution – concentrating in Peacebuilding and Reconciliation & Justice – from American University’s School of International Service in 2020, and her B.A. in Post-Conflict Reconciliation from Whittier College in 2017.
Kelcey’s work and studies have focused on an array of interdisciplinary topics including: human rights & conflict resolution education, transitional justice, refugee protection, environmental peacebuilding, civilian protection in armed conflict, genocide & atrocity prevention, and climate change. Her graduate practicum capstone focused on environmental peacebuilding and involved field research in Israel & Palestine on transboundary resource management. She is passionate about combining research and advocacy to create human-rights-oriented policies that are both conflict- and gender-sensitive.
She has worked previously with the Alliance for Peacebuilding, the Center for Civilians in Conflict, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Additionally, she is currently Vice President and Deputy Executive Director for Model United Nations of the Far West Inc.
